Just steps from the sand, at the end of S. Seaward Avenue, and you’re at the Ventura beach location. This charming, quaint coffee house may be the oldest in Ventura. For over 14 years, Full of Beans has been serving up the Local’s favorite “cup of Joe”, and supplying the summer beach tourists with a plethora of smoothies, ice blended drinks, milkshakes, malts, ice cream and so much more. Each morning, before the crack of dawn, the bakery is alive and filling the streets with enticing aromas of fresh baked muffins, bagels, turnovers, scones, croissants, coffee cake, cinnamon rolls, and brownies, just to name a few! When the doors open at 6 am, a steady stream of customers begins to arrive. Everyone helps themselves to the fresh brewed, piping hot house coffee roasted by non other than the Santa Barbara Roasting Co. The cheerful barista is working fast, brewing espresso shots and steaming pitchers of milk for lots of wonderful lattes, mochas and cappuccinos, expertly prepared, just for you! There’s nothing like warm, fresh baked pastry and a hot cup of coffee to accompany you on a brisk walk on the beach, or get you moving on your way to work. There’s a cozy little patio with a relaxing fountain and a mural of the Pierpont Beach coastline, painted by a local artist. Potted flowers and plants give a serenity you could only match at the other Full of Beans location in Ojai. Because of the success and popularity of the beach location in Ventura, there is now a brand new Full of Beans in Ojai, CA, up Hwy 33 about 13 miles on your right just past the Ojai Car Wash. This is where you’ll find another little piece of heaven. The building itself reminds me of an adobe castle, painted an unmistakable shade of vivid burnt orange. The coffee house is set back from the street and there is ample space for parking. As you approach the front doors, you will notice two covered wooden patio decks, another whimsical fountain, and a lavishly planted, large garden patio out back. This place is gorgeous! Once inside, the warm colors and comfortable seating will invite you to stay. Completely revamped and extremely fresh, you will feel at ease the moment you walk through the door. At this much larger location you will find even more freshly baked goods, FREE wi-fi, lunch items and all the same coffees, other drinks and pastries as found at the beach store. The outgoing and polite staff will make you feel like a regular customer and an old friend on your first visit. The staff is full of expert baristas who take pleasure in making you any drink you want, even if not on the menu, and even if it’s your own recipe or that of “the other guys”. |
